The summer has come quickly to an end and the seminarians are beginning to make their return to the seminary this week. We will begin our 35th year of seminary classes at Mater Dei Seminary next Monday, September 9th. We currently have 21 seminarians that are studying at the seminary for this fall semester. Our facilities are filled to full capacity so the bishop is having 5 of the seminarians stay in Omaha and travel in every day for classes. It is a 50 minute drive one way from Omaha to the seminary. It is a good problem to have! We will eventually need to look at options for expanding our current accommodations. Thankfully, we have the space to do that with the ten acres that the seminary sits on. Besides the need for more accommodations, there is the need of providing means of transportation and meals for our seminarians. God in His Providence will provide!
God willing, there will be several priestly ordinations in May. Please keep the success of the academic year in your prayers. We are most grateful for your prayers and support of the seminary.
God bless you!
